Welcome to LaFayette: Community Unveils New Sign



Yesterday, Coosa Valley RC&D presented LaFayette Main Street with a grant for the City of LaFayette's new welcome sign in a reveal ceremony on Highway 50.

“This spectacular and beautiful sign was awarded through the Coosa Valley RC&D grant to LaFayette Main Street and we are so thankful”. said LaFayette Main Street Director DeAnna Hand.

“Special thanks to all that attended and our community! To our city, county, and legislative support, please know we could not do this without you. Senator Price and Representative Fincher serve and advocate for us here in LaFayette always. We are also thankful to Barry and Stephen from our member, Craftmaster Printers, for helping us create this work of art”, added Hand .

The community's hearts are full and now proudly display a new sign that reads “Welcome to LaFayette".

Stay tuned because according to LaFayette Main Street, they have secured funding for three additonal signs. Below are more pictures from the event.

OPELIKA RECEIVES $2 MILLION SEEDS GRANT TO BOOST ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Cusseta Residents Voice Concers Over Potential Quarry

  LaFayette- On Monday, the Chambers County Commission held a regularly scheduled called meeting inside the courtroom as they heard from Cusseta citizens voiced concerns over a potential Quarry that could come into their community.  Cusseta resident Suzanne Montgomery spoke to the commissioners, and a large group of other citizens listened to her and their concerns.  Afterwards, Cusseta resident and buisness owner Jack Robertson spoke to the commission on the negative impact the Quarry could have on the economy for the Cusseta community.  The Chambers Ledger will continue to follow up on this developing story.
