Coosa Valley RC&D , Alabama Forestry Association Host Cookout for First Responders




On Tuesday, Coosa Valley RC&D and the Alabama Forestry Association hosted a cookout for First Responders in Chambers County. The Alabama Forestry provided the food, and grilling and Coosa Valley RC&D presented a $2,500 donation to the Back the Blue Foundation.




Alabama House Representatives Debbie Wood and Bob Fincher were in attendance along with State Senator Randy Price, Lanett Mayor Jamie Heard, Chambers County Commissioners Debra Riley, James Modo Edwards, Sam Bradford, and many more local Dignitaries.

OPELIKA RECEIVES $2 MILLION SEEDS GRANT TO BOOST ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Cusseta Residents Voice Concers Over Potential Quarry

  LaFayette- On Monday, the Chambers County Commission held a regularly scheduled called meeting inside the courtroom as they heard from Cusseta citizens voiced concerns over a potential Quarry that could come into their community.  Cusseta resident Suzanne Montgomery spoke to the commissioners, and a large group of other citizens listened to her and their concerns.  Afterwards, Cusseta resident and buisness owner Jack Robertson spoke to the commission on the negative impact the Quarry could have on the economy for the Cusseta community.  The Chambers Ledger will continue to follow up on this developing story.
